Week of September 15th-19th

This week students will: 

Math: 
-  Use number lines to identify where numbers belong. 
- Continue to explore three digit numbers-standard, word, and expanded form. By the end of the week students will be expected to expand and write whole numbers up to 1,200.



Reading: 
- Begin to arrange events of a story in logical sequential order. (Sequencing)



Continue....
-Describe similarities and differences in plots and setting of different stories. 


We used this graphic organizer in class:


-Describe traits, motivations, and feelings of fictional characters.

Teach.Pray.Love: Character Traits Inside and Outside anchor chart
-Practice routines of Daily 5.

Writing: 
-Use elements of the writing process (Last week we worked on pre-writing). Drafting
-Continue Handwriting without Tears

Home Extension: Discuss the differences between revising and editing. 




Social Studies:
- How are government officials selected?


Science:
- Begin, observing physical properties of matter- Solids, Liquids, and Gases.



-Continue to make predictions based on observable patterns.
-Continue to explore different scientists.

Social Emotional Learning: 
-Continue Practicing Self-Talk

Self-Talk: means talking to yourself in a quiet voice to help you stay on task and focused. 


Homework: 
-Spelling: Spelling List: sent out via email.
-Homework Contract: sent out via email.


Library this week (Thursday)! Students are allowed to check out two books. This week students will be required to check out one non-fiction and one fiction.
